/The City of Maribyrnong put on wonderful Christmas every year and here is yet another one! With magical AR (augmented reality) colouring comp, ginger bread man treasure hunt AND art trail plus the Yarraville Christmas tree coming to life before your eyes!

AR Colouring Comp
Christmas comes early in the form of the best colouring competition of all time. Not only is the Santa and Sirens colouring comp an Augmented Reality experience where Santa and his gingerbread friend jump straight off the page in the colours chosen by the artist but the prize is every kid’s dream.
One lucky child per City of Maribyrnong suburb will win a visit by Santa to their house! Pick up a special colouring sheet at participating traders or download at Maribyrnong.vic.gov.au/xmas to get in the draw. Entries close December 7.
For the second year running, Council will be using the magic of Augmented Reality (AR) to entertain and engage the young and young at heart. Download the MARIality app (below) to start having your special tech savvy fun in each shopping precinct.

One of Santa’s first stops as he tries to land his sleigh in the Nicholson St Mall! Take a pic in Santa’s house and while you’re there, don’t forget to check out the Christmas trees beautifully decorated by students from local primary schools.

It’s a Gingerbread Hunt! Find and scan the¬ gingerbread house decals with the app to see who will pop up and ¬say hello.

Fun Christmas Events!
Welcome Christmas with the arrival of Santa by boat along the beautiful Maribyrnong River. The Blackbird Cruise boat will deliver Santa to meet everyone at the Wharf – so come along to greet Santa and officially welcome the festive season at Footscray Wharf on Thursday 1 December from 10am. Santa will be armed with treats and ready to pose for pictures with everyone. There will also be a coffee van with freebies for adults and kids!
On Friday 9 December, Braybrook Community Hub will host a family friendly picnic complete with a visit from Santa and lots of children’s entertainment. So join in for a free sausage sizzle and coffee cart, Western Bulldogs sports activities and Manny the Magician.
