This is a pretty epic spot for spot of lunch. Eastern Beach in Geelong has got to be arguably the best water front destination in Victoria with its sea bath, childrens pool, playground and the ferris wheel further along.
Woodend is lovely and if you need a reason to visit - you’ve got one! We are already planning to come back to Kuzu Izakaya.
Yet ANOTHER great option for lunch or dinner in Portarlington. The NEW Food Park is a cute open air food park just a block in from the main street. With coffee and treats from Miss Buzz in the am, and food trucks, beer and cocktails in the PM.

This new cafe in Ballarat is totally amazing. Jaw dropping dishes - the sight of almost every single dish exiting the kitchen is astounding! Mamma and the kiddies were oooing and ahhhing at everything!
Eating anywhere near the water is amazing and Pier St is no exception! Sitting at the bottom of the hill in Portarlington and right next to the pier is this lovely cafe where you can sit outside under the festoon lights and umbrellas, dine on some amazing seafood and feel the gentle sea breeze.
The historic Portarlington Grand Hotel on the Bellarine has completed her full make over recently and it is STUNNING.
This old girl has been transformed from an old tired institution to the jewel of Portarlington.
This is a general store, cafe, takeaway, local produce and bottle shop all rolled into one and folks come from ALL over the area to catch up with friends and dine on some yummy fresh food.
Take your little creatures for a visit to Little Creatures in Geelong!
When Mamma says this place is on the water she means it’s RIGHT ON the water! On The Heads sits on a gorgeous old jetty on the river at Barwon Heads.
This cider house rules! What a fantastic space! The Flying Brick Cider Co is such a great outing for the family, with indoor seating for the chillier days and that glorious outdoor lawn space when the sun pops out! Come in for a delicious meal or just stop by to grab some take away cider, wines or check out the gift shop.
Cliffy's has super friendly staff, kids menu and colouring in - and great food. With it’s old general store feel it is so gorgeous, cozy and full of character. It is definitely one of the icons of the area and a MUST visit!
Great service and yummy food. That is just about all you need when dining out as a family. Saigon Allee also has good fast meals and is so SO pretty!
Mamma says that if you can drive past Bourkies without stopping for a bite then you must be crazy! This iconic bakery has been serving up the best meat pies, sausage rolls, vanilla slices and more for 30 years!
Mamma loves this place and it's 'Beachy Brady Bunch' style. It's bright, and light and retro and fun
What could be better on a sunny day than to be hanging out with friends and family, in gorgeous surrounds, drinking cider & eating wood fired pizza, while the kids run around freely on the luscious green grass? Nothing! There is nothing better.
Mamma says next time you are on the road in the Swan Bay area and you see the big Piknik sign - take it as a GOOD SIGN to stop and drop in for a bite. This converted old Golden Fleece roadhouse has charm, FANTASTIC food and super friendly service.
The great Chocolate Easter Bunny is visiting each Saturday and Sunday in the lead up to Easter.
What would you say if Mamma told you there was a cafe with great food, outdoor seating, a playground right next door, an amazing beach over the road and a river full of ducks and their ducklings a few metres away? You'd say - "point me in that direction Mamma!" Well that direction is along The Great Ocean Road past Lorne to the divine hamlet of Wye River. A Mamma favourite for many years.
