FREE FUN - west set festival
/You may have seen that The City of Maribyrnong is currently hosting a FREE live music program, West Set Festival, at various music venues in Footscray. The program has some GREAT family friendly options that Mamma wants to tell you about!
“With FREE performances, audiences will enjoy a cross genre mix of live music performances: Ethio and Latin Jazz at a new pop up venue named ‘Las Palmas’ (the Footscray Library forecourt), world-class DJs, pop acts at Railway Reserve next to Footscray Train Station, and big band and funk sounds programmed across local live music venues including Kindred Bandroom and Chasing Sound.”
West Set Festival finishes this weekend but, you can catch a great family friendly show THIS SUNDAY!
The open air courtyard of Footscray Library that has been transformed in ‘Las Palmas’ will come alive for the final all ages celebration presented by ThinOzone from 11am - 2pm.
“Join the Seben Brothers, an eight-piece Congolese Rumba/Soukous band and expect an eclectic mix of central African music, and new material that originates from their homelands in Congo, Mozambique, and Kenya. Performing a repertoire ranging from Latin Jazz standards to Tito Puente, Eddie Palierie, Perez Prado, Marc Ribot, and plenty of originals, Los Cojones brings ‘Mambo’ wrapped in raucous.”
Sounds fantastic!
