You can’t fly to Europe right now, but there’s no need to when you can head to… Footscray! What? I hear you ask. Let Mamma explain…
A peachy bar opened recently, but quite secretly, in a laneway off Nicholson St mall. A hole in a graffiti riddled wall will take you up a colourful staircase which leads to a long sun drenched bar. At the other end of the good vibes bar (where DJs will help you party - sans bébés - at weekends), you will discover a rooftop courtyard that will actually deliver you to Europe.
Wine is the drink of choice here, but if you want to kick back with a cocktail, there’s plenty to choose from. There is also beer on tap and summer seltzers.
Hungry? Baguettes are for lunch, and delightful Italian and French snacks will have you opting to forgo dinner and continue eating Délice cheese, salumi, mustard, focaccia and anchovies until dusk turns to night and the festoon lights glisten against a darkened sky.
Footscray already had everything, but now it has everything.
