werribee open range zoo, werribee south
/The most recent addition to the Werribee Open Rane Zoo is the adorable new rhino calf! The Southern White Rhino calf is ready for visitors with his first adventures out on the savannah. The eight-week-old charismatic rhino, Jabulani [pronounced: Jah-boo-lah-nee], is curiously exploring the 30-hectare.
Werribee Zoo could possibly be Mamma's favourite all round family destination in the west. There is so much to do here for all ages and it is constantly adding new and fun things to do. Start with a stroll around the zoo seeing the monkeys, lions, wild African dogs, hippos and cheetahs. Pop into the Meerkat cafe and have lunch with the meerkats, or have a picnic at the Village Kids playground.
Then step onto the safari bus for a magnificent and informative 45-minute trip through the African savannah.
Plus there is the playground near the Australian trail, a grass maze on the way to the lions, and a rope playground outside the monkeys - for all the little monkeys!
Mamma's special mention: Expect to meet all kinds of animals, lions, gorillas, meerkats and more - the possibilities for adventure and fun really are endless. Oh and we love Hippo Beach and Splash Play too
Oh and if you want to go and explore more of our Zoo’s - head to Healesville Sanctuary or Melbourne Zoo!
