Mamma suggests a Sunday is a good option - the St Kilda Esplanade market is on and always nice to peruse the stalls, stop for some food tuck yummies and take in the atmosphere. You could always plan a family trip to Luna Park or if you are on a tight budget pack a picnic and head for the absolutely lovely Veg Out Community Gardens or St Kilda Botanical Gardens.
