Well, this is a fabulous idea! Mamma is a big fan of anything that inspires families to gather up the kids and head out for an adventure. Gumnut Trails is new and a great fun way to discover a new place to explore or uncover new things about a place you have been before.

How does it work? Well, first you order your adventure guides - click here. The first release is the Melbourne’s West adventure cards and you can pre-order Melbourne’s North. Then all you have to do is choose which trail you want to explore, check what you need to take and away you go. There are 5 to choose from.

Gumnut Trails is your guide to getting outdoors and into nature as a family. Written and illustrated by Westie Mamma Christina, they are beautifully illustrated cards, are easy to follow and the perfect size for little hands to hold. Each card has great comic visual depictions of what you will find on your adventure and even little notes pages kiddos can fill in when they get home. Each adventure card has a mission, curious facts, the time it will take on the trail, what to wear, a map, lots of ID pics and more helpful information.

Mamma and the crew went on the adventure trail to Jawbone Marine Sanctuary - a fantastic hidden gem in the west. We have been here before but it was a lovely way for us to get motivated to go again. There are four other adventures to choose from but we don’t want to divulge too much - that makes it even more special! There is even a trail Mamma DID NOT KNOW! So we can’t wait to check that out.
