the best parks and playgrounds in brimbank
/ Mamma SammiThere are plenty of parks and playground fun in the Brimbank and surrounding areas!
Check out some of Mamma’s faves! From Deer Park to Albion, Keilor to Sunshine we have playgrounds covered!
Folks - have you ever seen a playground that has a COOLER Ninja Warrior obstacle course?! If your kiddies would love this - then you MUST visit the new playground at Keilor Park Reserve.
Brimbank Council have unveiled a new pocket playground in Cary St Sunshine North, and Mamma thinks it’s just great! No playground cookie cutter happening here - a unique wooden climbing structure with netting and slide suits preschool aged children perfectly.
Mamma loves a playground that only improves with age - this is one of them. Mamma first visited this playground when it was opened in 2014, and is pleased to report that SEVEN YEARS ON, it is better than ever!
Sunvale Community Playground and Water Park is fabulous! Mamma loves this awesome playground and park - a great place for a sunny day! Pack the togs and a towel!
Huge new playground in the new Mambourin - next to Werribee - with huge towers, water play, basketball, flying foxes and more!
Another little upgraded playground in Brimbank has made Northumberland Road Playground a very enjoyable space. There are swings, a climbing frame with monkey bars and slides, spinner and undercover BBQ area.
Ahoy there! Climb the riggings and scrub the decks, this playground is for climbers and pirates at play! There is a giant climbing frame with three nests, rope monkey bars, slides, balance ropes, climbing walls and ropes, swings and more!
We love when councils invest in the local parks and playgrounds of neighbourhoods in the West. This is exactly what Brimbank have done here in their upgrade of the Waterfield Park Playground in Cairnlea.
A lovely little playground, with two play areas, a basketball half court, bike track, exercise equipment, grassy spaces, BBQs and picnic tables!
This really is a playground that has it all. It’s gorgeous, spacious and has loads of great equipment including a castle with slide, enormous sandpit, swings, climbing cube, spinning carousel, BBQ’s and undercover picnic tables. All surrounded by towering gum trees.
Ninja Warrior look out! This training ground has all the obstacles needed to train up the little and not-so-little ninja superstars!
This is a well loved playground that remains one of the most popular in the area. There is a giant wooden structure with lots of slides and ladders and stairs for the little ones to imagine themselves in a real life game of snakes and ladders. There are also swings, seesaws, and a host of town-like buildings - little wooden stalls spaced out to entice children to play around between them.
Swings, slides, giant climbing pyramid, rocking boat, nest swing, basketball court, tables, shelter, barbecues, great shady trees, and grassy spaces. What more could you ask for in a playground? How about a neighbouring grassland reserve (Matthews Hill Reserve) with walks and bush camping vibes, and an off-leash dog area?
This playground has been designed in such a way to invite creative and mindful play, and to utilise those gross motor skills, meaning your kids will be totally WORN OUT! And while the kids are off making up obstacle courses, you can relax. Mamma rarely comes across a playground this tranquil.
The little truck and tractor lovers in your family will have a WHEELIE good time at this playground!
Steering wheels! Tractor tyres! Slides! Swings! Tunnels! Rock climbing! See-saw! Mamma LOVES it here!
Green Gully Reserve is a real treat. The whole area is very spacious with plenty of room for picnics, ball games and to just generally spread your wings!
What a great park! This fantastic playground in Deer Park was built back in 2011 but was way ahead of its time in terms of the 'volcano' theme and great equipment.
With current must haves in parks - flying fox, net swing and lovely gardens to explore, it also has our old favourites - swings, slides, climbing ropes and basketball ring.
Mamma says this is just a great park in the west, you might say it's a family favourtie for locals and those who make parks and playgrounds their destination!
Got a good climber on your hands? This is a cute little playground to check out next time you are in Sunshine.
This playground gets TWO thumbs up by Mamma and the road testing kiddos. Mamma's fav has to be the flying fox of course, while the kids just love that slide.
Don't expect a huge array of equipment here - there is one lovely wooden structure with climbing webs and ropes, a mammoth slide and swings but it's unique, a little quirky and overlooks a lovely tree filled valley, making it a nice spot to relax whilst the kids play.
The feature 'playscape' area is excellent - with swings, a giant pea pod, cow park bench, an alphabet maze, a HUGE platypus and so so much more! Look closely and you will find all kinds of treasures scattered throughout the space.
If you are looking for a playground with an amazing view, Mamma says this has to be to be one of the best in the W. It's perched on a hill of sorts above the Maribyrnong River, overlooking bush land, a golden temple and the city
