erskine falls, lorne
/You are 234 steps away from these gorgeous falls! Mamma counted. Little legs and old weary ones like Mamma’s might find it tricky but be sure to have some little breaks and a big rest when you get to the bottom! Plus when you do make it down - you get the reward of seeing the waterfalls from 2 different view points!
We also ventured across the river at the bottom section of the falls and found the entrance to the Erskine River walking track ! What a Jurassic adventure that is! You can trek along the river all the way back into Lorne (much too far and challenging for this little family!) but we went along as far as we felt comfortable, about 20 minutes and it is just lovely and certainly breath taking in some parts. Straw falls are along this track and are lovely.
This is a magical places where the imagination conjures up all kinds of possibilities..…it is so quiet, peaceful and almost otherworldly! We spotted lush iridescent moss, ancient ferns, fallen trees, hidden glades, a sasquatch, a river fairy, more waterfalls, a cliff cascade, 2 bush pixies and good ol’ serene beauty. Fantastic for the soul.
Mamma’s special mentions: Check out the Fyansford Paper Mills - it is an amazing hub of artist studios, shops, cafe and Provenance winery!
