sheoak falls, lorne
/These falls are definitely one of Mamma’s favourites.
Just past Lorne on the way down the iconic Great Ocean Road you will see a small unassuming sign indicating that the Sheoak Falls lay just off the bend in the road. What you will find is a stunning, picturesque waterfall amongst gorgeous bushland.
The walk from the (small) car park is about 15 minutes and has quite a few stairs, but there is so much to look at it’s hardly noticeable. Mamma loves the view of the Great Ocean Road from the top boardwalk and then the grassy path along the rock wall complete with cubby holes.
The falls themselves are really beautiful, with perfect wooden vantage points to take some family snaps in front of the falls. Then the Sheoak River cascades down through the rocks which ends up at the beach.
This is the perfect spot to stop when you are heading past Lorne when all the twists and turns get a bit much for the kiddos.
