Mamma loves the town of Trentham. It’s such a beautiful place and not too far from Melbourne for a day trip. The Cosmopolitan Hotel sits proudly on the corner on the main strip and you will be drawn to it’s original pub facade and the scent of wood fire. Inside is exactly what you want - cozy and rustic, with a warm fire place to create the perfect atmosphere. Mamma can’t go past some mulled wine and a parma and both were delicious. But there are plenty of other options as well - and a kids menu. For warmer days there is a huge beer garden where you can spend the afternoon and watch the wood fired pizzas getting cooked. So good!
Mamma's special mention: There is so much to do around this area - but first have a wander up the main street and have a look into the Trentham General Store, grab a cookie from the bakery or just pop into one of the many gorgeous shops.
Trentham Falls is a few minutes drive away where you can see the falls from the lookout (the trail down to the bottom has been closed for a few years though unfortunately).
