Mamma has been wanting to do this for ages and now the kids are old enough it is a fantastic adventure!
These popular kayak tours sell out fast so you have to be quick to get in when the bookings come up. Hosted by the Werribee River Association in conjunction with Paddle Victoria, this is a cruisey journey along the banks of the Werribee River with a guided discussion on the flora and fauna in the area.
Suitable for the whole family (From 4 years old in a double kayak) the events are a 45 minute tour of the river, you need to arrive about 15 minutes before your time to get a safety brief and be fitted with your life jacket.
The river here is just gorgeous and the volunteer tour guide we had was very knowledgeable. The idea is you paddle along the river under the instruction of the Paddle Victoria team and then at spots along the river you ‘raft’ together as a group and a volunteer from the Werribee River Association gives you the rundown on the river and the surrounding area.
It is calm and peaceful and Mamma says you will be totally forgiven if you forget entirely where you are!
It is a great experience and one we will be doing again!
