national wool museum, geelong
/Mamma says this is a fascinating place to visit! If you have ever wondered about the process of farming, shearing and processing wool, then this is the museum for you. The National Wool Museum in Geelong champions our nation’s favourite woolly farm animal and helps explain the history behind the livestock and how the wool goes from the farm, to the factory and to your home.
The museum is a number of storeys tall and has both informative displays, historical artefacts, and interactive models. You’ll see how we use wool in our daily lives in a model home, how it is spun and woven into carpets, and of course the steps it takes to shear those wriggly sheep. See if you can spot the green sheep.
There is currently the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition on, until May 18
