Mamma loves a good road trip. And Mamma loves nature, country pubs and hiking! Halls Gap is lovely little country town nestled in the mountains of the beautiful Grampians National Park. It is the kind of place where sunrise and sunsets are breathtaking… where Kangaroos roam the town and Cockatoos just wander into your cabin! It ticks so many boxes when it comes to the perfect family destination.

Accommodation
There is lots of accommodation options here including a Big4 Holiday Park located just on the edge of town - this is really great for families or you can stay in the centre of town at the Halls Gap Holiday Park. There are other caravan parks, such as the Lakeside Tourist Park which has an AMAZING playground, kangaroo valley, heated pools and lots of school holiday fun! There are heaps of other options too!

What can you do?
There are lots of hikes and walks you can do for all levels and capabilities.

We love The Pinnacle hike and lookout it is truly one of the highlights of the area when it comes to views and scenery. For young families, Venus Baths is a beautiful short walk perfect in warmer weather, and The Balconies provide amazing views over the Central Grampians (without the Pinnacle effort)!

You can check out all kinds of trails some that start in the town and others you need to drive to.

Mamma also highly recommends a visit the Bellfield Lake or take the kids down to Stony Creek in the town centre for a paddle and picnic - the bakery there is amazing, and Coolas Ice Creamery is not be overlooked!

For some cultural learning from the Traditional Owners of Gariwerd Country, Mamma says a visit to Brambuk is an absolute must, with endless information about the rich history that will truly bring the Grampians to life.

After a day of adventuring, play and hiking the Halls Gap Pub is THE place to be! Make a booking - as it does get busy ((03) 5356 4566 Mamma LOVES the huge green space for the kids to run around and make friends in and the playground is a bonus! There is even a little play room inside the pub….oh and great meals too!

Spirit of Punjab
You won’t find better Indian food anywhere in the state! Mamma says a visit to the Spirit of Pujab is an absolute must!
