Blueberries are so delicious. We enjoy them with pancakes, muffins, in a smoothie or just as they are! This versatile little flavour explosion is even better when you pick it yourself - Mamma says go for the big blue ones and go low, people often overlook the low branches!

Mamma always jumps at the chance to show the kids exactly where the food we love comes from. Connecting to food is really important, even in those first early years. This is not just a great day out with plump, ripe berries, this is an educational experience!

Set in picturesque hills the farm is nestled in the volcanic soil of Mount Buninyong is Buninyong Blueberry Farm. It is located in Buninyong (5 - 10 minutes out of Ballarat) and the blueberries are easy pickings. You and the family are given a briefing and some rules on arrival regarding techniques for perfect plucking and then grab a bucket and away you go!

When you have picked what you need you take your bucket to be weighed and pay for your blueberry booty. It is a bargain when you compare it to supermarket pricing and you really can't put a price on the freshness and experience of fruit picking. Mamma says pick lots and freeze them!
