tzaki yarraville
/Tucked away in Yarraville, Tzaki (Greek for fireplace) is a small space but BIG on flavours. This is an Athenian mezze bar, so think Greek inspired small share plates, bar seating and a very cool vibe.
Everything is wood fired, giving the dishes just the right amount of smokey, crispy, flavourful char. The food is simple, thoughtful, and exceptionally tasty.
The octopus is perfectly tender, the smoked chicken a favourite…..or was it the saganaki? Hard to choose! The flatbread is fluffy inside with crisp edges, perfect for scooping up the tangy taramasalata.
It’s all about seasonal, fresh ingredients here, plus the menu changes every week for some variety - but with a few recurring faves! Mamma says that’s just a great excuse to come back. Am I right?
We loved the space, yes - cosy, but it is effortlessly cool, and whether you're in for a drink or a full spread of shared plates, it works. Well.
Great food, friendly (and fast) service, plus a little bar energy makes Tzaki well worth a visit.
