FREE FAMILY FUN at seawork's winter solstice festival, williamstown
/The Seaworks Winter Solstice Festival is back again this year. This incredible FREE event celebrates the longest night and the shortest day of the year, marking the start of the winter season.
This is a great place to spend a wintry evening celebrating maritime heritage, giant puppets, circus, food and fun!
FAMILY FUN
Last year was amazing and again this years festival promises to be just as exciting with heaps of entertainment for all ages. Mamma says to expect a range of activities, including giant puppets by the amazing Blanck Canvas plus circus performances by The Sway, live music, dance and more.
The festival also features:
art exhibitions and the maritime museum is open
kids band - The Drongo and The Crow
market stalls
plus a variety of food trucks and more
WHAT IS WINTER SOLSTICE?
The festival has its roots in ancient traditions and has been celebrated by different cultures around the world for thousands of years. It is often associated with the rebirth of the sun and the return of light after the darkness of winter.
Parking for the event:
There is free parking on Ann Street and paid parking on Nelson Place
