newport steamrail workshop open day, newport
/Can I get a toot toot! Let me hear ya toot toot! Westie folks the whistles you hear this weekend are coming from Steamrail Victoria’s OPEN day happening ALL this weekend!
We can’t pinpoint where the fascination with steam trains came from but we do like to visit this place on their annual open day over the long weekend.
See 30 STEAM LOCOS ON DISPLAY over two sites. Vintage trains, displays, workshops, machinery and plenty of history to discover and yes the kids and YOU can pull that whistle!
You can also go inside some of the 100+ year old trains to explore, there are guided tours and lots of experts around if you have questions on any of the trains.
Mamma’s special mentions: If you can’t get enough train action here - your entry also included FREE entry to the Newport Railway Museum up a little way further on Champion Road.
