newport lakes, newport
/Have you been here? Newport Lakes is a beautiful bushland oasis with undulating walking and running tracks and even a self-guided 40 minute nature trail. It's hard to imagine that this place was transformed from a former bluestone quarry.
With its two big lakes, lots of native birds and grassy spots for picnics, it's a wonderful place to bring the fam for a day of wildlife watching and native plant spotting.
There's a small playground area and Pavey Reserve is just across the way if your crew need to blow off more steam.
the nitty gritty
