a day in altona by mamma knows west

Want to spend a day in Altona? The pier is NOW open and it is such an amazing destination for the family. If you are looking for some adventure in Altona then here are a few ideas for food and fun! Pier Street has a great section with grass, seats, a cubby and some play areas for the kids too!

Tuesdays are a fantastic day
to visit as they have the Altona Beach Market

Let's start our day trip here with brekkie and coffee at the delicious Rockabye Candy  - They serve up yummy food and great coffee - or takeaway coffee from Matteo’s Deli and head to Logan Reserve for a play.

Make sure you leave plenty of time to make it to the Altona Library for their FREE Rhymetime on Tuesdays at 11am

Take the kids for a play and splash at the Altona Beach of course whilst you make up your mind about where to go for lunch....for us it is ALWAYS Hecho En Mexico with the kids - they love!

After lunch you can do some more exploring at the new pier oh and the Altona Homestead is open on Tuesdays too. You will of course need an ice cream and Beach Bites or a visit to Yo Mama for a Frozen Yoghurt is it THE spot to go!

There are also a couple of great bars to check out later in the night too - Metro Cellars Wine Bar, Hop Heads and The Late Night Piano Off Pier Bar!

If you haven’t been to Altona in a while, do yourself a favour and head there for an outing or whatever takes your fancy. It really is great.
